Portfolio didn't do

Article

My previous layout had a quite different approach compared to my other versions by being an portfolio exclusively and abandoning the blog section completely. I grew to miss the blog too much to keep it that way, which is why I decided to get back to my current design{1}.

The main goal with the layout was to focus more on the portfolio and less on the blog, but it didn’t feel like the right way to go for so many reasons. And here is some of them…

Why I switched:

  1. I recently started to grow some ideas with a friend that I’d like to share with you all alter on. And therefore the blog is much needed.
  2. Being an portfolio exclusively gave little (or no) room to actually design a complete website. It was actually quite boring.

To do:

  1. Get a complete new layout up{2}.
  2. Seperate content from the blog with the portfolio.
  3. Rebuild the portfolio section from scratch{3}.

My to-do-list is currently occupied by a project I’m working on right now while trying to fit in my Hyper Island application and the ordinary life.

So, what’s new? I’m thinking about releasing not one, but two WordPress themes. I’ll post more about that later when there’s more time. One of the candidates is this version, which I think could shed some light on you all.

  1. You may recall it as version six
  2. Or do some radical changes to this current one, and keep it.
  3. Using categories to seperate content.

Are you going to release them as Tumblr themes too?

Wow! Looking forward to the release of this theme! ;) And I’ll subscribe to your RSS to keep updated.

Adam – I haven’t decided yet. The main idea behind this release is to give something back to the WordPress community.

Daus – Thanks, Daus! I’ll let you guys know what’s going more often than I have in the past. Let the updates come. ;-)
